Dear Positively Cleveland Stakeholder:

Positively Cleveland has been proactive in preparing for the future over the last few years. We reorganized our departments for efficiency. We brought our publications in-house to maximize their potential and cut costs. We rebranded the organization to improve visibility and name recognition. We forged relationships with organizations like Team NEO and the Greater Cleveland Partnership.

We launched a regional brand, Cleveland Plus, and became a critical founding partner of a marketing alliance that enabled Northeast Ohio to be advertised not only to travelers, but also to businesses. We moved our offices to a traveler-friendly position on Public Square, participated in the renovation of the historic Higbee Building and opened the largest Visitors Center in the region.

To promote Cleveland Plus as an outstanding business meeting and leisure tourism destination in order to grow the region’s economy.

FACTS

+ Positively Cleveland sent more than 700,000 qualified potential room nights to hotels, which is the most in the last 15 years. Some of that success was due to the 2007 addition of our D.C. representative who, in 2008, produced more than 80 potential meeting leads.

Positively Cleveland further focused its efforts on reaching out to niche groups that could be booked in the I-X Center, hotels and other venues in Cuyahoga County so as to grow particular markets and improve booking numbers. We created a “green team” and participated, along with four major downtown hotels, in a sustainability initiative with E4S (Entrepreneurs for Sustainability). And we added a oneperson sales office in Washington, DC, to better reach meeting planners and associations based there.
